Váczi Rozi at the HR Fest
From failures to matyodesign success – on the Fuck-Up Nights stage
One of the most inspiring talks at this year's HR Fest took place as part of Fuck-Up Nights, where Rozi Váczi, the founder of Matyodesign, shared her story. Female leaders at the event spoke candidly about their failures and how these experiences contributed to their later successes.
Rozi's story was particularly deep and personal, as she brought up the topic of postpartum depression. We know that life is a great director. In Rozi Váczi's life, a birthday marked a turning point, leading to the birth of Matyodesign. Her story goes back to her roots: Rozi's parents left the capital to start a new life in a small village in Borsod, Tard. The rural idyll, where Rozi and her siblings were raised, played a significant role in the family's life.
The little girl grew up, became a wife, and gave birth to her daughter, Lola. Rozi struggled with postpartum depression, which posed a significant challenge for the family. They decided to return to Rozi’s childhood home in Tard, hoping that the rural environment would aid her recovery.
In Tard, they found not only healing but much more. While preparing for her husband's birthday, Rozi came up with the idea of asking her sister's former nanny to embroider a Matyo rose on her husband's shirt. The surprise was such a great success that they thought others would also appreciate this traditional motif, and it could provide work for the women of Tard. This is how the idea of Matyodesign was born.
On the Fuck-Up Nights stage, Rozi spoke openly and without taboos about the role failures played in her journey to becoming the successful leader she is today. Her talk reminded the audience that mistakes are not only a part of life but also one of its most important driving forces.
